I am sure most of you have heard of Fischerspooner before. They have been around since the late 90’s. If not, you should check out their album Odyssey (2005). It is classic. The group really helped to shape the whole electropop scene. They released their Danse In France EP earlier this year. When I first heard it I didn’t think much about it, but now I really dig the track (probably due to how sexy I find French accents to be). Peace & Beats

Today I am posting two amazingly lovely progressive house tracks. The first is from German producer Klaas. I just recently found out about Klaas after his great remix of “Where’s Your Head At.” This guy is going to have a huge year if it continues the way it has been going for him. His remix of Guru Josh Project’s is simply one of those beautiful rave songs I have ever heard (at least for now). However, I don’t think everyone will agree. Ah well, at least im sure everyone could agree the title of the track kind of sounds like it could be the name to a rave. Too bad I don’t see this guy coming to play in America for awhile.

The second track is by a duo from Amsterdam that go by the name of 16 Bit Lolitas. It is just as peaceful as the other one I posted today. I love the swirling sound of the vocals. I can’t wait to check out some more of their stuff. Peace & Beats

Dave 1 and P-Thugg are two cool cats. Too bad Chromeo’s set sucked at Coachella compared to the one they put on at SXSW. Soon they are going to be kicking off their West Coast Tour. In the meantime, heres a good “Needy Girl” remix to hold you over.

Is it just me or are all the hot techno producers/DJs out there from either France, Germany, or Britain? I know there are plenty or talented American acts, but for some reason foreign acts seem to get my attention more. I am starting my list of hot techno tracks for the week with Maxime Dangles. He is a growing DJ from France with a the nice EP out Speicher 59. Both tracks on the Kompakt Extra release have a nice and dark techno vibe to them, but if you’re going to buy just one track from Beatport, I would have to suggest “Tulipa”.

If you don’t know anything about Dusty Kid, and are a fan of the techno genre, then I suggest you go out and purchase as much music of his as you can. The guy is simply superb. If you guys like his stuff then let me know and I will post some of my other favorite tracks by him including the other electro house hit Tsunamy from the EP.

I am going to finish off Techno Thursday with “probably the most played Techno track in history, “The Bells” has become the anthem for our sonic generation. Whenever heard, the response is typically euphoric and even today, it continues to serve as the climax of countless events, raves and parties starting a decade ago” according to boomkat.com. I agree with the fact that this Detroit local is one of the most influencial techno DJs of all times. Happy 10th anniversary to Jeff Mills and “The Bells.” Peace & Beats

Well Im probably going to get in trouble for posting this song because it has been #1 on Beatport for a few weeks now, but I have been playing it too much lately not to post it. As far as I know, this is the only release by Jean Elan so maybe he wont be too pissed and get some much needed publicity. I know even less about Klass. I am probably just an idiot but I couldn’t even find their myspace page! Regardless, it is a fun electro house released on Shake Me Please!

Alan Braxe on the other hand, is a little more well known. All though he might not look it, he is 36 and currently signed to Kitsune. “Addicted” was released on Kitsune Maison Compilation 5 and to me has a cool bass beat that reminds me of some of the ones I heard by Timberland minus the gay vocals added by rappers.

Well I have noticed the music I have been posting recently has been in a new direction than what I have been posting in the past. Hopefully there are a growing number of German bloggers because I don’t think the majority of American electronic music fans fancy the minimal and Tech-House genres too much. German artist Stimming (Stimming is a jargon term for a particular form of stereotypy, a repetitive body movement (often done unconsciously) that self-stimulates one or more senses in a regulated manner. There are many theories about the function of stimming, and the reasons for its increased incidence in autistic people. For hyposensitive people, it may provide needed nervous system arousal, releasing beta-endorphins) has a some good Tech-House stuff out there. I haven’t heard it all but “Funkworm” should give you a nice taste of his work. Peace & Beats

Fake Blood totally kicks ass. He has really blown up insanely quick. Congrats to him. I remember looking all over the internet in April for his “Beeper” remix and was so glad once I finally got it. Well it is way easier to find now. Beatport now carries some of his stuff so DL the song and if you like it, then buy it. His remix of UNKLE’s “Restless” is also worth the couple of bucks.

The Wiseguys “Ooh la la” is one of those songs you have heard somewhere and just can’t remember where. Probably on a shitty Dane Cook movie preview or something. Luckily the song doesn’t suck like Dane Cook. It is a classic Breaks track from the British Hip-Hop group’s Antidote (1999). Peace & Beats

Carl Craig’s remix of Alter Ego’s “Gary” is one of those songs that I absolutely love and can’t get out of my head, but I think doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves. It is one of those songs that can be played by legendary DJs such as Carl Craig and John Digweed night after night, but never be posted on all the hipster blogs that now seem to focus solely on Electro music. Even if you don’t like truely ‘Techno’ music I think you need to give this song a listen. Remember to support your artists! Peace & Beats

Modeselektor is a young and hip duo, or trio, (Not really sure since there was three of them at Coachella) from Berlin. Unlike most of the music I seem to hear coming out of Germany, Modeselektor is far less minimal even though the are signed to Ellen Allien’s Bpitch label. “Hasir” is probably my favorite track from their 2005 album Hello Mom! DL the track below, but remember to support your artists and buy the album. Peace & Beats

I have been in the mood to listen to progressive house lately. I can credit a lot of it to seeing Sasha & John Digweed tear it up at Coachella. Martin Roth’s remix of “Sensation Seekers” is awesome. Even though I think Electro’s popularity is going to continue to grow and far outpass the number of fans of Progressive House; I think Progressive House is here to stay, unlike Electro.

If you haven’t heard DiskJokke’s new album Stayin In then check it out. The track “Folk I Farta” is outstanding! You’re a fool if you don’t buy it.
